He was a resident of Milledgeville, GA. He graduated from Glennville High School and attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Mr. Kicklighter was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and a retired electrical engineer, whose team designed the missile fire control system on the Warner Robins Air Force Jets.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Melinda Graham Kicklighter; a son, Henry Graham Kicklighter of Salt Lake City, UT; a daughter, Suzanne May Kicklighter Miller of Milledgeville, GA; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Kay Kicklighter of Ft. Valley, GA; an uncle and aunt, Gary and Linda Durrence of Clayton, GA; three aunts, Midge Durrence, Lauree Kicklighter of Glennville, GA and Betty Durrence of Midway, GA; ten beloved grandchildren, Melinda Miller Bivins of Perry, GA, Hunter Hughes and Meggie Suzanne Miller of Milledgeville, GA.
He is preceded in death by Monterey Hart Miller of Elko, GA, Delainey, Jessie, Monterey, Brandt, Jane and Audrey Kicklighter of La Verne, CA and cherished nieces.
A service will be held at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA on May 30, 2012 at 2:30 P.M.. Father Don Caron of the Episcopal Church will officiate, followed by full military honors.
The family would like to thank the Georgia War Veterans Home and Carl Vinson VA Hospital for their loving care of Mr. Kicklighter.
