He was born on April 11, 1928 in Tyler, PA the son of the late Robert and Martha (Davis) Boucher.
LaMar served in the United States Army during the Korean War; during his time serving he was proud of his accomplishment of climbing Mt. Fuji.
LaMar was the owner of DuBois Floor Company and Boucher’s Toy Center. He also enjoyed selling lemonade from his stand at the Hazen Flea Market. LaMar was well known for his love of model trains. He was proud of his train collection and enjoyed sharing his passion with others.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Christ Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his three children: Shirley and her husband Ralph Gamble of DuBois, Brian and his wife Sheila Boucher of Columbia, SC and Scott and his wife Theresa Boucher of Camp Hill, PA; five grandchildren: Lauren (Matthew) Preston, Lindsay Gamble, Alexandra Boucher, Allison Boucher and Serena(Jim) Padua; two great grandsons: Ryan and Owen Preston; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Geraldine (Frisbie) Boucher, who passed away on June 17, 2012; a sister, June Britton; and six brothers: David, Dolph, Gene, Max, Norris and Darhl Boucher. He was the last member of his generation.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. with Rev. Amy Miller officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4:00-8:00pm on Saturday, September 24 at the funeral home. Additional viewing will be held on Sunday from noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
