Mr. Robert (Bob) John Ryan of Burbank, Illinois was born on April 23, 1933 in Chicago, to the late Christine (nee Wurtz) and the late Lester Ryan. He passed away at age 86 on June 5, 2019 in Lemont Illinois.
Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War. He worked at GATX for 45 years. Robert was married for 58 years to his beloved wife, the late Elaine.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers William and Richard, and his sister Jeanette. Robert is survived by his children, Daniel (Dawn) and Kathleen (David); brothers, Martin (Lorraine) and James (Lois); grandchildren, Aaron, Christopher, Dillon, and Danielle; and great-grandchildren, Sophie and Chace.
He loved hockey and baseball, and was always rooting for his two favorite teams: the Blackhawks and White Sox. He also enjoyed stamp collecting, playing golf, watching horror movies, and listening to rock and roll music.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Robert’s life on Sunday, July 28 at Kathleen’s house - 14613 S. Arboretum Dr. in Homer Glen Illinois, 60491.
