Mr. Walter “Woody” Daniel Wood, Jr., age 76, of Douglasville, GA, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016. He was born September 2, 1940 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, son of the late Walter Wood, Sr. and Dorothy Huff Wood. Woody loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed painting. A connoisseur of music, he enjoyed big band music, as well as all genres of music. He was a member and an active participant of the Woodie Fite Senior Center and enjoyed spending time there with his friends. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Wood is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Sue Wood; son, Alan Wood; daughter, Jennifer (John) Wood Maloney; brother, Robert Wood; four grandchildren, Connor Maloney, Zachary Maloney, Riley Maloney, and Braden Wood; nieces and nephews, as well as other family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
