Mr. Dailey was a member of the Local 72 Atlanta Plumbers and Pipe Fitters for 50 plus years. After his retirement he continued to work as a Game Warden in Fulton County and as a Surveillance Officer for the Parole Office in DeKalb County. He was a member of the Panthersville #543 Masonic Lodge receiving his 50 year apron. He was a part of a wagon train that carried gold from Dahlonega, Georgia to the Georgia Capital Dome. He was a longtime member of the Shriners Posey. He enjoyed Civil War reenacting, camping, his horse and Dog Rebel. He was a member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include wife, Karal Jean Dailey of Temple; four daughters, Donna (Paul) Ray of Temple, Vicki (Jimmy) Dailey DeFreese of Temple, Paula (Bill) Dailey Jones of Moore, SC, Lori (Paul) Zittnan of Palatine, IL; brother, Paul Gerald Dailey; seven grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Walter’s life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 1 o’clock pm from the Chapel of Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home at 8640 Rose Avenue Douglasville, Georgia 30134 with Masonic rights and Pastor Phillip Wynne officiating. Burial will be held Sunday at Melwood Cemetery with military honors.
Family will receive friends from 11:30 am till 1 pm Saturday at Whitley-Garner of Rosehaven.
