Steven “Steve” Wayne Butterworth, Sr., age 68, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, January 1, 2021. He was born August 31, 1952 in Macon, Georgia. Steve was a CDL driver and dedicated his life to being a hard worker to provide for his family so his wife could take care of their children Steven and Evan Butterworth. He also raised his long time companion’s daughter Sara Newby, as well. While he was a man who stayed mostly to himself, he was an extrovert with those closest to him and was fun to be around. A “smartass” by nature, he was always picking on you if he liked you, expected rebuttals and encouraged debates. Steve was a history buff, passionate about Harleys; and a music enthusiast.
Preceding him in death were his parent, Cecil “Buzz” and Pauline (Hamm) Butterworth; and a brother, Jerry Butterworth.
Those left to cherish his memory are his former wife, Glenda Snow; sons, Evan (Kristie) Butterworth and Steve Snow; “companion daughter”, Sara Newby; 20 year companion who was like a sister to him, Denise Newby; four grandchildren, Bryce, Bailey, Kase and “companion grandson” Cayden; and his devoted Chihuahua for 12 years, Frank Sinatra who was by his side consistently.
No services are planned at this time.
