Rosemary was born to the late Amie and Margret Beturne in Portland, Maine and grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts. where she graduated from Commerce High in 1960. In 1962, she married her first husband, Jerry Northup. Over the next several years, they had three children and moved from Massachusetts to Florida, and then on to Georgia where she would spend the majority of the rest of her life. Several years after her divorce, Rosemary met her future husband, Richard F. Parker, and were married in 1980. They would remain happily married until Richard’s death in December of 2011.
Rosemary was a devout Christian and a member of Bright Star United Methodist Church. She enjoyed learning about and observing the natural world. She could often be found on a trail with several field guides, a binocular and a magnifying glass watching birds, looking at flowers and rocks. She would also go fishing at the drop of a hat and loved spending time with her family.
Rosemary is survived by her brothers and their wives, Paul and Madeline Beturne of Myrtle Beach, SC, David and Margret Beturne of East Longmeadow, MA and Dennis and Judy Beturne of Springfield, MA; her sister and her husband, Carol and Robert Fontaine of Laconia, NH; her children and step children, Jay Northup of Reno, NV, Amy Leslie of Lecanto, FL, Dede DeLozier of Douglasville, GA, Rick Parker and his wife Pam of Douglasville, GA, Pam Smith and husband Gordon of Abita Springs, LA and Brenda Fields and husband Richard of Richmond Hill, GA; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 17 nieces and nephews; 24 great-nieces and nephews; and 9 cousins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 10:30am until 11:30am at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home 8640 Rose Avenue Douglasville, GA 30134. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:30am in Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Sam Braswell officiating. Rosemary will be laid to rest at her home church at Bright Star Cemetery following the services.
