Richard “Dick” Allen Morris, Sr., age 82, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Richard, lovingly known as Dickie by his family, was born April 6, 1940 in High Point, North Carolina, the oldest of five siblings. Dick’s love for his family, and especially his wonderful wife, Gail, was the most important thing in Dick’s life. He was a hard-working man who strived for perfection in all that he did. He was an avid golfer, outdoorsman, marksman, car enthusiast, and a Man of God. Even though he attended Georgia Tech, he was a die hard UGA fan. He felt great joy and vindication when UGA recently won the Football National Championship. He was generous with his smile, and it always brought a twinkle to his eyes. Dick was a man of few words and many deeds. Although he will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him, we are joyous in the knowledge that he has been made whole through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
A visitation for Dick will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitley-Garner Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel. Following the service, Richard will be laid to rest at Central Baptist Church Cemetery.
