Peggy Joyce Pope

Mrs. Peggy Duncan Pope, age 67, of Douglasville, GA passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 at her home. Peggy was born July 28, 1951 in Rome, GA. She was a graduate of Douglas County High School and worked for Norelco-Phillips Lighting and the State of Georgia. She had an adventurous and determined spirit and enjoyed traveling and gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carlous Duncan and Martha Ayers; her step-parents, Marlin and Linda Nelson; her brother, Jimmy Duncan; father and mother-in-law, Curtis and Loretta Pope; brother-in-law, John Hayes; and nephews Corey Pope and Joseph Keaton.

She is survived by her husband, Lance; daughter, Suzanne and son-in-law Jeff Helms; grandson, Duncan Helms; brother, Billy Duncan; brother, David Duncan and Scarlett; sister, Cathy Duncan Williams and Mitch; brother, Lee Nelson and Amy; sister, Lynn Keaton; sister-in-law, Shannon Hayes, brother-in-law, Garry Pope and Harriet, brother-in-law, Larry Pope and Melissa, brother-in-law, Jeff Pope and Michelle; her beloved nieces and nephews and their families, Lauren Williams Bryant, Steven and Nolan; Courtney Williams and Phoenix; Carley Williams; Melissa Rice, Adam, Kinleigh and Keaton; John Duncan, David Duncan, Kelly Alford, Kristina Wiggins, Joseph Duncan, Brandon Duncan, Jessica Keaton, Bobby Keaton, Tyler Nelson, Trevor Nelson, Christopher Pope, Morgan Harris, Kirk Pope, Curtis Pope, Samuel Pope, and many loved grandnieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather together to celebrate Peggy’s life and share memories on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 3 to 5 pm at Douglasville First United Methodist Church, Huffine Hall. In lieu of flowers please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the local food pantry or a plant to be planted in a garden in Peggy’s honor.
