Elizabeth “Pauline” Goble Cochran, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024. She was born on December 3, 1932 in Pickens County, GA, daughter of the late Roscoe Goble and the late Nancy Gwendola Dinsmore. Pauline was a long-time member of Beulah Baptist Church in Douglasville.
Pauline loved jigsaw puzzles, playing Scrabble, and doing seek-a-word puzzles, but her greatest love was quilting by hand. She blessed so many with her handmade treasures over the years, including the women in the mountains of Honduras, with baby quilts, lap quilts, coasters, table runners, dish towels, pot holders and many other beautiful handmade pieces.
She loved the old classic country music and, at one time, was President of the Don Williams Fan Club. Her collection of vinyl is amazing!
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lewis Harold Cochran; brothers, L. C. Goble, Bobby Gene Goble and Charles “Freddy” Goble; sisters, Mildred Baldridge and Linda Whitfield.
She is survived by her children, Patricia (Jim) Smith, David H. Cochran and Mark (Wanda) Cochran; grandchildren, Craig (Wanda) Smith, Sarah (Ken Achenbach) Smith, Danny (Angie) Cochran, Chris (Natascha) Cochran and Jason (Amber) Cochran; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel (Noel) West and Margaret Goode; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 6, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The service will follow in the Chapel at 1:00 PM with Terry Pearman officiating. Following the service she will be laid to rest at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
