Longtime Douglasville resident, Marjorie “Jane” Washburn, age 72, passed away at her daughter’s home in Ranburne, Alabama on Friday, November 20, 2015 at which time she was under hospice care. Jane was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1943, the daughter of John P. Ashmore, Jr. and Marjorie (Cash) Ashmore of Douglasville, Georgia, both now deceased.
Jim and Jane were married in 1971 at which time she was an accountant for the Fulton County courthouse. She later became a homemaker so that she could be home with her children. Jane was a loving mother and took a very active role in her daughters’ lives. During her time as a homemaker she took an active role in establishing the Douglas County Chapter of Right-to-Life. She later became president of this chapter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Washburn.
She is survived by two daughters, Cherie “Dawn” Hall, wife of David Ray Hall, and Tara Kathleen LeBlanc, wife of Beau Anthony LeBlanc. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Kayla LeBlanc and Lauren Hall; a grandson Carson Hall; a nephew Todd G. Spillers; Todd’s daughters: Natasha Rice and Cristy Lee Spillers; and Natasha’s children.
The viewing and graveside service were held on Monday, November 23, 2015.
