Margy Morris

Margy L. Morris age 84, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Macon, Georgia on October 8, 1939, the daughter of the late Oscar E. Lanier and the late Florence Clyde Hobbs Lanier. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia.

Margy loved her family, family vacations, and watching any sports that her grandchildren and great grandchildren played.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Pam Morris, Jimmy and April Morris, Jeff Morris and Teresa, daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Charles DePriest grandchildren, Britney Comptois (Chris), Tyler Morris (Lydia) Abby Robbins (Taylor), Brennan Morris (Brooke), Parker Morris (Shanna), Kellan Towns (Frederick), and Caroline DePriest; great grandchildren, Brady, Cohen, Merrit, Rhodes, Jameson, Eden, Ezra, Jack, Liam, Breck, Brinley, Lochlyn, Lynox; sister, Miriam Hammond, sister-in-law, Janice Morris and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Morris, sister, Elaine Porter and brother Emory Lanier.

The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. and the service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Tim Akin officiating. Interment will follow in the Douglasville City Cemetery.
