Mrs. Lola I. Martin-Jackson, age 53, of Dallas, GA passed away February 21, 2016. She was born September 13, 1962 in Newport Manchester Jamaica West Indies to Gwendolyn Brown Martin and Sydney Martin. She attended Bethel Christian School and Manchester High School in Mandeville Jamaica. Lola worked at Astra Hotel as a Receptionist and a Librarian at the Manchester Parish Library in Mandeville. She migrated to the USA in 1984. Lola worked with Aetna Insurance Company in Hartford, Connecticut as well as Rosenbloom and Hofflick Law Firm in Manhattan, New York City.
Lola was a survivor of the tragic 9/11 in 2001 in New York City. After this catastrophic incident she moved to Atlanta, Georgia and worked at various law firms. Her last job was with Taylor English Duma Law Firm. On December 3, 2010 Lola and Kendrick Jackson were married and the two hearts became one. Lola is the Co-Founder of Maintain Anointing Deliverance Ministries where her beloved husband is the visionary and founder. Lola is also the Co-Host of House of Bread Word Line. She is a Licensed Minister of the Gospel and author of Lady Lola’s Inspirational Poems as well as graduate of God’s leading ladies where the founder is First Lady Serita Jakes. She also loved to read the bible and praise the Lord. She served God to her greatest capacity and loved encouraging and lifting people with her positive influence.
Lola was the youngest of five children. She leaves behind three sisters, Rosalee Bka (Annie), Sonia and Pamela Bka (Dawn); one brother, Dennis; wonderful brother-in-law Keith Rattray, otherwise known as Clive; nieces Ruth, Shernette and Emily; nephews Kade and Peter-John; eight grandnieces; two grandnephews; one great-grandniece as well as numerous cousins.
Lola also leaves behind her beloved husband, Kendrick Jackson; mother-in-law Zeola Dumas; father-in-law Alvin Dumas; brother-in-laws Kenneth and Charles Jackson as well as a host of nieces, nephews, best friend for over 20 years Terry Jackson and the whole Taylor English Duma Law Firm family where she loved each and every one dearly, especially Tracy McDuffie and Alexandra Rason Coons.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 5 o’clock pm until 7 o’clock pm. A funeral service will be held in the Rosehaven Chapel on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 10 o’clock am. Interment will follow in the Rose Haven Memorial Garden.
