Jo Ann Green Daniell went peacefully to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 29, 2018. She was born in Henry County Georgia, on March 30, 1927. Jo Ann lived a life revolved around faith, family and friends. Over many years she showed tremendous strength, courage and fortitude fighting cancer and pain. Throughout, she remained a beautiful, gracious Southern lady, never wavering from her strong faith.
Jo Ann’s spirit of adventure and will to embrace life were apparent to everyone who knew her. She was a life-long learner whose adventurous spirit took her on many travels, both domestic and international. She was a gifted decorator with creative touches of style and distinction.
Jo Ann loved going to God in prayer. Studying the Bible and praying for others were a priority. She lived out her faith in various ways including serving in her church library and knitting prayer shawls for Threads of Hope.
The family wishes to thank Verona Hopwood (of Kadan Homecare), Jo Ann’s caregiver and Godly friend of more than 10 years. Verona’s constant love, support and spirit were felt by Jo Ann, family and friends.
Jo Ann was greatly loved and appreciated by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Daniell Hayes (Gene); son Ray Daniell (Ali); granddaughters Jessica Hayes Brown (Matt), Rachel Daniell and Andie Daniell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Daniell, Jr., and her parents Lee Hugh (Sam) Green and Genie Mae Green.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00AM, Monday, Dec. 3, at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven in Douglasville, with reception to follow. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00PM, Sunday, Dec. 2, also at Rosehaven. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Douglasville, 5900 Prestley Mill Rd., Douglasville, GA 30135.
