Jerry was a 1968 graduate of Therrell High School in Atlanta where he played football - # 66, and he proudly served his country as a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He married the love of his life, Cheryl, in 1969 and lived a wonderful life together until her passing in 2015. He was an avid fan of UGA Football – go Dawgs – and Harley Davidson. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, woodworking, building things, and tinkering. Jerry had a love for the outdoors, enjoying spending time with nature. A doting father, he always appreciated being able to coach his son, Matt, in both baseball and football when he was growing up. That love of sports continued into being able to cheer on his grandchildren during their sporting events. His grandchildren were his entire world – he loved them more than anything. Jerry also had a big heart for animals and a love for cars. He worked as an electrician for many years, even holding a Master Electrician license at one point.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Cheryl (Cicero) McCain; his parents, Virgil and Agnes (Kovalski) McCain; and his siblings, Frank McCain and Dottie Walls.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jeremy McCain and Matt McCain and grandchildren, Maddox McCain and Anna Grace McCain.
