He was born December 24, 1959 in Villa Rica, Georgia. Jeff was a 1978 graduate of Douglas County High School. He worked for John Thornton Chevrolet since 1979 and had retired as Parts Manager. He loved all things cars – especially the ’69 Camaro and the ’70 Chevelle. He loved football and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, a Braves fan and enjoyed yard work. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music. Vintage country music was his favorite and Willie’s Roadhouse was his favorite SiriusXM Station. Jeff had become a great caretaker of his dear, sweet mother since the passing of his father.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carlton Boyd, Sr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lauren Boyd; his mother, Bette Boyd; a brother, Hugh Boyd (Trudy); two nieces, Erin and Courtney; as well as many cousins and extended family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Douglasville City Cemetery.
