James was born in Miami, Florida on December 25, 1965, the son of the late James William McCall, Sr. and the late Dolores Ethel Maxwell. He was a unique man, one that possessed a zest for life that was free-spirited and always happy. James had an infectious smile, which automatically drew others to him. He was very caring and loved those he spent time with. If you looked for the life of the party, you would find James having the most fun. He loved spending quality time with friends whether it be on the golf course, the beach or on the Reel Shady. But the true love of his life was his wife, Tammy. James was a natural-born athlete and excelled in numerous sports. He was very passionate about his Miami Hurricanes and idolized Kenny Chesney. Coaching Volleyball was where the serious side of James came out. He loved mentoring and watching “his kids” develop into true athletes. He had a special love for his volleyball kids and families.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy McBurnett McCall; stepson, Logan Landers; lifelong friend; George Gagne, a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends in addition to his beloved fur babies Scooter, Maddie, Tyson, Murphy and his bird, Simon.
His parents James William McCall, Sr. and Dolores Ethel Maxwell McCall precede James in death.
There will be a “Gathering of Friends and Family” on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia and the Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Derreck Boring officiating.
