Mrs. Doris Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Davis, age 79, of Douglasville, GA passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014. She was born October 28, 1935 in Atlanta, GA. She retired from Tetley Tea in Marietta, GA, was a member of the American Legion for 50 years, the Forty & Eight Cabane 217 for 40 years, both of which she held state and national offices. Jackie loved her family dearly and loved to celebrate Christmas. She was known for her pecan pies.
Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Ray Bailey; her second husband, John R. Davis; her parents, Isaac and Mattie Black Conn; daughter and son-in-law Joy Renée Taylor and Tommy of Villa Rica, GA; brother, Billy Conn; brother, Gordon Conn; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Helen Conn; sister, Eva Conn Goldsberry; and sister-in-law, Becky Conn.
She is survived by her son, Reverend Raymond A. Bailey (Karen) of Stockton, CA; daughter, Sylvia A. Bailey of Douglasville, GA; brothers, Sammy Conn of Marietta, GA, Gene Conn (Brent) of Bremen, GA, and Eddie Conn (Brenda) of Winterhaven, FL; sister, Mary E. Armstrong (Cecil) of Temple, GA; sisters-in-law, Margaret Conn of Conyers, GA and Linda Conn of Mableton, GA; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Reverend David Parrish and Reverend Mike Mallory officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
