Mr. Gerald Emmet Williams, age 75, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020. He was born August 16, 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia. He survived polio as a child and lived a fulfilling life. He proudly served his country as a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Williams was a devoted husband to his wife, Sharon, for nearly 57 years. He loved music and was an Elvis fan. He enjoyed dancing and loved to jitterbug with his wife. He loved going for drives. He and Sharon took many road trips together to the mountains, various lighthouses and Disney World. He loved grilling out, shooting fireworks with his brother, fishing and he loved dogs. He and Sharon were long-time members of Prays Mill Baptist Church where they were active members of the congregation, and he sang in the choir.
Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon, who recently passed away on April 28th. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, Norris and Annie Holcomb Williams; and great-grandson, Brody Brancheau.
He is survived by daughters, Christine (Kirk) Nicholson and Michelle Williams; his brother and sister-in-law, JW and Carolyn Williams; three grandchildren, Anna (Keith) Brancheau, Morgen Nicholson, and Christian Finley; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Porter Brancheau; many nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous other loved ones, and friends.
A graveside service is planned for Friday, May 15, 2020 at 4:00 PM at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
