David Earl Wade, (81), of Douglasville, GA passed November 24, 2023 peacefully at his home. Born September 8, 1942 in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri, he graduated from William Chrisman High School. He attended Brigham Young University until he joined the Armed Forces in 1966. Dave served the military in Bitburg, Germany at a Nike missile site. He returned to Independence to work at Wade & Sons, a family business which manufactured aftermarket automotive parts.
In 1992, the Wade Family moved to Douglasville where Dave accepted a new job with Holcombe Armature. In 1996, ever the entrepreneur, he began an engraving company. In 2000, he purchased Cartecay Clothing, a screen printing company and then went on to acquire The Trophy Den, a locally established awards business.
Dave loved his family and nothing pleased him more than being with all of them together. He loved spring and summer when he could enjoy the peace and solitude found at his lake property. Night fishing was Dave’s favorite lake activity. He enjoyed listening to music like orchestras and instrumentals, and particularly loved his home organ and would play often. Dave also enjoyed painting peaceful landscape pictures.
Dave was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many different callings. His favorite was as Bishop of the Douglasville Ward for five years. Dave especially loved working with the youth, meeting with them weekly.
Dave leaves behind Kaythryn, his wife of over 60 years, five children, twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Children, Scott Wade (Leah), Wendy Wade, Randall Wade (Julie), Laura Davis (Richard), Andrea Tingen (Todd) Grandchildren: Sydney Wade , Wade S. Wade (Gloria), Kyler Wade, Jacob Davis , Morgan Davis, Luke Davis (Lillian), Eli Davis , Reeve Davis, Trisha Davis, Scott Tingen Katelynn Tingen, Haley Tingen.
Those preceding him in death are father, Earl Raymond Wade, mother, Alice Mallinson Wade, grandchildren, Loren Olivia Wade and Zachary Davis.
The family will receive friends at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Saturday,
December 2, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
