Camellia “Jeannie” Elizabeth Garrett, age 77, of Winston, Georgia passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024. She was born August 29, 1946 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Jeannie knew the meaning of family-centric—she was a devoted wife for more than 30 years, was like a loving mother to her nieces, a beloved sibling—knowing that family was the utmost of importance in life regardless of how widespread the distance of where family members lived. She was a wonderful cook, loved to bake, enjoyed the holidays as well as all the different seasons. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the senior center, where she liked to play bingo and was a competitive poker player.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Margaret (Polson) Boatman; brothers, Joe Boatman and Bob Boatman; brother-in-law, Jack Williams; and nephew, Wes Boatman.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of more than 30 years, Michael “Mike” Garrett; sisters, Margaret Williams and Dinah (Wayne) Parker: brother, Bill (Lindy) Boatman; nieces, Beth, Jackie, Joy, Sandra and Susan; nephews, B.J., Michael, Rob and Gene; great-niece, Amber; and Jeannie’s namesake, great-great-niece, Camellia; as well as other extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel.
