She met and married the love of her life, Ronald "Ronnie" Nelson, and the two had two beautiful children together: Brad and April. She attended First Baptist Church Douglasville and Heritage Baptist Church where she was an active member of the choir and the Pioneers group.
Mrs. Nelson enjoyed art, gardening and helping others. She worked in various capacities at Lithia High School, Alexander High School and The Coca-Cola Company.
She was a kind hearted individual and dedicated her life to helping others. Her unwaivering faith and passion to serve was an inspiration to her family, friends and the countless lives that she has touched.
Mrs. Nelson is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Nelson; parents, William and Bonnie Lowery; and sisters, Nancy Lowery and Barbara West. Her memory will be cherished by her children, Brad Nelson of Douglasville and April and her husband, JT Terblanche, of Atlanta and their children, Ava and Ethan; her sister in law, MacMurphy Bundrick and her husband, Sam of Norman, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews; and her Chihuahua, Charlie.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home 8640 Rose Avenue Douglasville, GA 30134. A celebration of Mrs. Nelson's life will follow at 3:00 pm in Rosehaven Chapel. A committal service will be held after the services at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
