Doris Dandridge was 82 years old when she went to sleep in Jehovah’s memory at 3:40 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2016. Doris died at Southeast Alabama Medical Center with her loving family by her side after an extended illness.
Memorial services will be held Saturday afternoon, October 22, 2016 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2627 Cottonwood Road, Dothan, AL. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to service time. At other times the family will be at the Dandridge residence.
Doris’s faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses was the most important things to her. She believed that if she stayed faithful to her God, Jehovah, it would make his heart glad and should she die she would be safe in his memory. One day Jehovah will resurrect her and she will be reunited with her family.
Doris married the love of her life, September 14, 1951 and had four children, Susan, Danny, Margie and Mollie. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 17, 1959 at the age of 24.
Doris was preceded in death by three sisters, Tiny Luster, Wanda Seeley, Sharon Lebert and a brother, Floyd Moore.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Curry Dandridge of Dothan; four children, Susan Pippin (Kenny) of Dothan, Danny Dandridge of Zigzag, OR, Margie James (Dan) of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Mollie Grindland (Mark) of Navarre, FL; grandchildren, Summer Benefield (Steve) of Dothan, Loren Pippin (Jade) of Dothan, Wendy Dandridge of Ocala, FL, Amanda Dandridge of Zigzag, Oregon, Lacey Carpenter (James) of Oahu, HI, Kara James of Austin, TX, Laura James of Ft. Myers, FL, Jesse Burch of Greenville, FL, Lakin Grindland and Skylar Grindland, both of Navarre, FL; great-grandchildren, Micah Benefield of Dothan, Forest Dandridge and Josh Dandridge, both of Zigzag, OR, Camy Carpenter and Aria Carpenter, both of Oahu, HI; Sierra Burch of Greenville, SC.
