.Philip W. “PaPa G” Guidry, Sr. a native of St. James and a resident of Belle Rose passed away on Monday March 17, 2014 at his residence. He was 73. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, the National Guard, and Army Reserve , and was a member of the V.F.W. He will be remembered for his cooking for organizations and church functions.
Visitation will be Wednesday March 19, 2014 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville and Thursday March 20, 2014 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose with Rev. Andrew Merrick celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville.
Survivors include his wife; Marie Alleman Lopez Guidry, 2 daughters; Phyllis Foster and husband Roy, and, Kim Glass, 2 sons; Philip Guidry, Jr. and wife Connie, and Mike Guidry and wife Alysha, 1 step- son; Bill Lopez and wife Robin, 3 step-daughters; Diane Lopez, Dale Vaillancourt, and Holly Dupeire and husband Chris, step-son-in- law; Roy McLaughlin, 2 brothers; Joseph Ernest “T Jim” Guidry and wife Molly, and Larry “Gissmo” Guidry, 2 sisters; Agnes Taylor and husband Buddy, and Ruby Giroir and husband Gerald, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, 14 step-great grandchildren, 3 step-great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph Ernest Guidry, Sr. and Felicite “Shoo Shoot” Murry Guidry and a step-daughter; Patricia McLaughlin.
