Carl Joseph "Picolo" Waguespack, age 68, of Hanceville, Alabama passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 3:00 a.m. Carl was born February 9, 1953 to Cyrille Michel Waguespack, Sr. and Uranie Marie Bye Waguespack.
Picolo was a native of St. James, Louisiana and current resident of Hanceville, AL. He previously was a eucharistic minister and adorer at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church and loved serving God. Picolo was a retired St. James sugarcane farmer and member of the Louisiana Sugarcane Farmers Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, beekeeping; in which he was also a member of the Cullman Beekeepers Association, and enjoyed perfecting his mini farm to support family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Cheryl Settoon Waguespack; daughters, Brandy Waguespack, Ashley Stein (Matthew), and Crystal Waguespack; step sons, Michael Medine, Jr. (Renee) and Seth Daigle; step daughter, Nobie Landry (James, Jr.); grandchildren, Sage Kocke (Clenshea), Blayne Pence, Kamryn Pence, Dylan Baudoin, Griffin Waguespack, Layton Pence, Kennedy Baudoin, Tobie Landry, Londyn Stein; step grandchildren, Maley Stein, Madden Stein, Landon Landry, Michael Medine, III, Lauren Landry, Meredith Medine, and Amelia Landry; great grandchildren, Giovanni Kocke, Kyson Kocke, and Kynsley Kocke; sisters, Jeanette Labat, Jackie Gravois (Dewey), Phayne Braud (Blanchard); brothers, Ronald Waguespack (Joan), Cyril Waguespack, Jr. (Shelley), Charles, Waguespack (Lisa); numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cyrille Michel Waguespack, Sr. and Uranie Marie Bye Waguespack and step mother, Mabel Zeringue Waguespack.
Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home of Donaldsonville on Saturday, September 18, 2021 beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church. Burial will be immediately following at Belle River Cemetery. Rev. Al Davidson will be officiating at the services. Pallbearers will be Sage Kocke, Griffin Waguespack, Layton Pence, Don Labat, Seth Daigle, Landon Landry, and Michael Medine, III. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dylan Baudoin.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Patrick Tomeny, Jr., Dr. Patrick Tomeny, III, Dr. Celia Fernandez, Dr. Adam Harrison, Huntsville Hospital Staff, neighbors, and friends of Hanceville and throughout for all of the love and support during this difficult time.
