Steven was born on July 9th, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY to Sylvia and Charles Marks. Steven was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served during the Vietnam War. He received a degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and served faithfully as a sergeant in the New York City Police Department for 30 years. On February 21st, 1967, Steven married the love of his life, Shiela. Together they had three sons, Daniel, Philip and Andrew.
Steven was a cherished member of his family who was always known for his generosity, unconditional love and enormous heart. His love of reading and education was a gift that he passed down to his sons and grandchildren. His favorite hobbies were reading a good book, watching the Yankees game, cooking, and spending time with his family.
Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia, his father, Charles, and his granddaughter, Victoria. He is survived by his wife, Shiela, his sons, Daniel, Philip and Andrew, and his grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Erica, Rachel, and Charles. A graveside funeral service will be held for Steven on Friday, August 28th, 2020 at 1:45 in the afternoon at Beth Moses Cemetery in Babylon, NY.
