Born in Meyersville, TX, Maria passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the age of 93. She worked as a farm laborer for 54 years.
She is survived by her six daughters, Guadalupe Pinedo of Dinuba, Elida Barrera of Dinuba, Oralia Leal of Reedley, Estella Lopez of Dinuba, Silvia Duarte of Dinuba, and Esmelida Gutierrez of Dinuba; two brothers, Isidro Garza of Dinuba and Juan Garza of San Antonio, TX; one sister, Refugia Maria Pena of Kingsville, TX; 28 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 2, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church with the Rosary being recited at 6:30. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 3, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Burial is at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
