It is with saddened hearts that the large family of Stanley Comeau announces his passing at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital Veterans Unit on Saturday April 25, 2020. Stan lived life to the fullest, enjoyed vacationing to the warmer climates in his younger years. H enjoyed dances at the Digby East Fish and Game, where he was a life-time member. Most of all he loved his garden. Stanley served as a cook in the military for a short period, of time, then went on to start his own carpentry business. Before retirement
Stanley was employed with the Department of Highways.
Stanley was the beloved husband of Norma Comeau and cherished father to Wayne (Nora) Comeau, of Barton; Wendall (Marcella) Comeau,of New Glasgow; Brenda Mathews, of Ontario; step father to Cheryl (Tony) O’Neil, of Digby; Linda (Gary) Vickery, of Edmonton; David (Nellie) Russell, of Centerville, Michelle (Troy) Robicheau of Annapolis, 12 grand-children whom he adored, and a large number of great grand-children. He is also survived by brother-in-laws Raymond Hodder, Bruce Hodder, Richard ( Roaxanne) Hodder and a sister-in-law Nancy Hodder all from Newfoundland and a large circle of friends. Stanley was predeceased by daughter Debbie, brothers Maurice, Alvin, Wilfred, sisters, Laurcey, Viola, Edith, Melvina and Cecelia.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Veterans unit for the excellent care that was provided to Stanley for the past two years. We could not have done it without each and everyone of you! Thank you so much! Burial in Barton Community Cemetery with Rev. Roy Barteaux officiating.
