Ronald Edward Tibbetts

Ronald Edward Tibbetts, age 66 of Digby, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013, surrounded by those who loved him. He was born in Digby on April 3, 1946 and resided in Smith's Cove for most of his life. He was predeceased by his parents Agnes and Edward Tibbetts, the youngest of 5 children. He is survived by brother Harold Tibbetts (Edie) of Bedford; sister Evelyn Haight of Smith's Cove; sister Frances MacNutt of Bedford; sister Alice Greene (Wallace) of Bear River, many special nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. Our heartfelt thanks are given to the staff at the Tideview Terrace Nursing Home and Digby General Hospital for the love and outstanding care Ronnie received over the last couple years.In Ronnie's earlier years he served many years as an ambulance attendant for Digby County and also spent many years in Ontario for work. He was a man of simple needs and took great joy in the simple things of life. Ronnie had a love for flowers and his four-legged companions he encountered throughout the years. He looked after his mother for many years, which was a great comfort for the rest of the family after the passing of his father. Ronnie enjoyed going blackberry picking, doing crossword puzzles, telling jokes, spending time with loved ones, and eating a McDonald's Big Mac. He was a man of little words but had a great sense of humour with a big heart. He will be missed greatly by those who knew him and loved him. There will be no visitation. The funeral will be held at Jayne's Funeral Home in Digby on Friday, March 15 ,2013 at 2:00pm, with Mark Cress officiating. Flowers by family only.
