Oressa Darlene Murphy- age 75, of Clementsport, Annapolis County, NS passed away October 9th, 2022. Born in S.W. Port Mouton, Queens County NS, She was a daughter of the late Lockie and Irene Burgess.
She was a beautiful, strong, courageous and extraordinary woman. Her children were her best friends and her heart was with her grandchildren, who she loved dearly. Her family meant the world to her. She will be remembered for enjoying the simple pleasures of life and having great appreciation in everyday things. She was a humble, prayerful and spiritual person. She provided a welcoming home to all. She wrote wonderful children’s books, legacies left to her grandchildren and only shared with family and close friends. She loved to laugh and enjoyed silly moments. She had a wise, compassionate and considerate spirit. She held a great space for anyone to talk, as she was a great listener and gave exceptional advice. She loved great conversation, discussion of ideas, making lists, investigating the workings of life and living. She was generous with her time, energy and efforts and had a remarkable way of giving the perfect gift. She had a passion for learning, studying topics of interest from quantum physics to spirituality. She was an inventor. She had a great interest in the weather and loved her time as a Weather Watcher. She was a unique spirit on this earth with a message to “go for it” in this life, follow your heart and be happy.
Oressa is survived by daughter, Nicole Murphy of Halifax; son, Leonard (Penny) Murphy of Digby; sisters, Sandra (Charles) Gatzke of Hammonds Plains, NS, Carol (Allan) Davis of Hammonds Plains, NS, Joanne (Stanley) Conrad of Bridgewater, NS; brothers, Pat (Lucy) Burgess of Port Joli, NS, Mac (Darlene) Burgess of Rawdon Hills, NS, Gordon (Cathy) Burgess of Port Mouton, NS and brother in law Jim Conrad; grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Amanda, Stephen, David and Nikolas. Many nieces and nephews with a close relationship with her niece Charlene (Jimmy) Walker of Clementsport. Besides her parents she was predeceased by husbands, Edward Murphy, Lorimer White; sister, Faye Conrad.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. Funeral service will be held on October 21st at 1 pm from Deep Brook Baptist Church, Reverend Nathan Waterman officiating.
