Myles, Murray Clarence – Age 78, Our dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away May 4th, 2014 peacefully at his home in Smith’s Cove, surrounded by family. Murray was born in Saint John, NB a son of the late, Clarence William and Hazel Myrtle (Craft) Myles. Murray was a warm, caring and compassionate man who was well known for his remarkable sense of humor and profound love of living life to the fullest. Murray served in the Air Force for 39 years through 17 postings and attained the rank of Master Warren Officer. His dedication to serving his country was well recognized through numerous awards and medals. That same dedication was evident in his retirement through his extensive volunteer activities in many organizations such as, Smith’s Cove Volunteer Fire Dept. 1985-2012 where he served as Chief, fireman, first responder and President, he was past president of Digby District Scouts, Beaver Leader, Smith’s Cove Colony, Past president Board of Directors Conway Co-op, member Digby Health Care Foundation, Member of RCMP seniors Advisory, Member of Smith’s Cove Sulis Smith Cemetery Society. Murray was best known for his love of family and his commitment to his wife, son and grandchildren. Murray and his wife Maggi were inseparable and their love sustained him through his battle with cancer, to the end. Murray is survived by wife, Margaret (Maggi) Mc Nally-Myles, son, Robert Philip (Ann Marie), grandson, Daniel Robert Myles, Granddaughter, Rachel Lynn Myles and sister, Carol Jane (Myles) Snow. Murray was predeceased by beloved first wife of 46 years, Florence (Karpetz) Myles; brother, Robert Dale Myles. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9pm, Today, May 6th from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street Digby (245-2525). Funeral Service at 2pm, Wednesday May 7th from Smith’s Cove United Baptist Church.
