It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Kenneth Joseph Theriault, age 84, of Plympton, N.S. He passed away peacefully at home on April 9th, he is now with the Lord.
Born in Ashmore, he was a son of the late Robert and Cecilia Theriault (Melanson).
Ken will always be remembered for his love of community, and connecting with others. Once meeting Ken, he would leave a lasting impression as he was an incredible storyteller, who spoke with great conviction. He had an unforgettable presence.
He loved adventure and change, and he was always looking for new career opportunities. This led him to having many jobs for which he enjoyed making strong connections with clients. He enjoyed early retirement with his wife Kay, where they went back to childhood roots spending time in nature at their cabin in the woods, logging, growing gardens and enjoying his tractor. He found immense tranquility during these years and was in awe of the miracles surrounding him.
He was also thankful for dear friends, near and far. There were so many who were especially important to him during these recent years, especially in his widowhood.
Our father found great comfort with the Lord, fitting, as our dear family friend Elaine would say, he was the Guardian Angel of Gilbert’s Cove.
He will be forever cherished by his children, Sandy (Marty), Ontario, Robert (Cindy), Bear River, Tania, Amherst and Tammy (Sandy), Halifax and grandchildren, Allison, Amanda, Jacob, Conrad and Kaylee.
He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Kathleen (Boyd) and his sister Margaret Thibault. He is survived by his brothers, James Theriault, and Bob (Ruth) Smith.
As per Ken’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In his honor, may we never forget the value of community, peace and friendship.
