Greg and l were school mates way, way back in the day at Westmount Junior High in Halifax. A popular and fun loving student who loved music and dancing 
We went our separate ways after. Westmount and I didn’t see him until many years later when he was working at Gingers Tavern/ Halifax 
I moved to Ont. In 1988 for work and Taggart later moved to the Digby area.so we lost touch. I was very saddened to learn of his passing. - He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched

I have fond memories of Taggert from way,way back in the day. 
Childhood memories- We were school mates at Westmount Junior High School.
Even back then had a fun loving and mischievous grin and always had a twinkle in his eyes.- A well liked and popular guy especially with the young gals who liked to dance. Greg  
Loved dancing and music and that was a lifelong passion. Back then in 
Junior High some of the girls used to endearingly call him “ Baby Face 
Because of his dimples and twinklin
Eyes . A nick name that Greg hated of course, even more so than being called Greg much later.
After Junior High , we went different ways , and l didn’t see him again until the 1980’s when he. Was cooking at Gingers Tavern  in
Halifax. In 1988! I  moved to Ont.
For my work, and Greg later moved to the Digby area.
He will be deeply missed by all of those whose lives he touched..R.I.P.

That last photo from the family of him wearing that blue shirt. That's how I remember him. He had that smile and disposition. Always good natured as I remember. We weren't close friends, but you knew he'd be a friend. That photo is how I remember him when I left in 1986. A great guy to meet and know!

Greg, we had lots of laughs over the years.  Lots of visits with you and Debbie.  You will be missed.

I first met Greg way back in Junior High School.Even then he was a likeable and. entertaining 
Character. A lively guy who loved 
Music and dancing. Greg could 
Charm the girls and “wow”them
On the dance floor Man! That guy could dance! In later years 
He used to make regular guest
Appearances on “Frank’s Band
Stand “ - a popular televised 
Weekly music and dance show 
At the time in Halifax.
It was a couple of decades later 
When  I encountered Greg again 
He was working at “Gingers 
Tavern “ as  Chief Cook. Greg was 
A hospitable person, a people person “who liked to entertain,
Who liked good company, good 
Food and music, good times and 
Conversation. In doing so , the 
Hospitality trade suited him and
He carried that forward and 
Developed it further.
Although It has been over thirty
Years since we last saw each other , l will always remember him- a good guy, a friend to many 
His sense of humour. Greg used to  joke that since he was two weeks older than me, he was older and wiser.!
He will be missed

🎶Dancing cheek to cheek🎶 As a young teen I met Tag and couldn't believe his great taste in music, especially for an old fart!! He loved and is loved, he was genuine and spoke his mind.  
For those aching as they feel his presence not so close, savor the fact you hurt because you love...that's always a beautiful thing!
Tag, may your smile continue to reach your eyes and your glass of beer always be topped with the perfect amount of foam!

I met Greg at High School 1965-67.  We danced at the YMCA, and were dance partners on Frank's Bandstand at CBC.  He loved music and could dance like crazy~! Love and light to his family.

I am sorry to learn of Gregs passing I knew him from Halifax years ago when we were part of the Gingers Tavern bunch!  I used to drop in and see him In Digby periodically but as I look back into the archives of my mind I think it was 1984 the last time I saw him!  I can tell you Tag was always a gentleman and he treated people well including myself!  He was a great guy and although I haven’t seen him for years I was saddened to learn this news and sure wish I could have seen him in the more recent years but seems that’s the way life goes by times!  Rest Easy my easy going friend until we meet again!  Sincerely Jerry Edwards!

I can remember the time when Taggart was in Halifax Harbor after being tossed from his whaler which continued to speed around him (I believe he did have some hits from the propeller). My dad in the Arm Patrol may have saved his life by crashing into his whaler bringing it to a stop and then pulling Taggart from the water and on for medical treatment. Saw him around a lot in our teen years in Halifax, he was always good fun. All the best and stay in the boat.

Tag was one of the people who really made me feel at home at the Fundy all those years ago. One of the first things I remember Tag telling me...
"I'm Taggart or Tag. Don't ever call me Greg."
He regularly helped me get and/or unload liquor orders for Dockside or the Club. When he couldn't help me he would loan me his truck so I could get it myself.
Taggart was a fixture at the Fundy for many years doing everything from serving tables and tending bar to working on plumbing, construction and boat captaining. I think he loved it all... In his own way.
I am glad I ran into Tag for a brief moment about a month ago. Though he couldn't talk to me, his eyes said it all. And he smiled.
I will miss him very much.

Greg I hadn't seen you in awhile but Friend you will always be. I still remember the walks on the beach in Queensland Beach back in the 80's. Always fun, always a laugh, always a friend. So sorry for the loss your family & friends are feeling. You will be missed.

I was very, very sad to hear this news.....I remember seeing TAGGART working for Dean over the years working for Dean at Club 98 or the Fundy Restaurant when ever i went in there to drink and or eat.....TAGGART have one more Labatt's Blue on Me and R.I.P. now My Friend.....

Taggy, you where a giggle, a groan, and a growl, all rolled up in a warm fuzzy blanket. You could fix anything or tried before you gave up. You were a teacher of skills. Your heart was kind and your friendship was valued. Thank you for being you and being in my life.  I’ll miss you. 

Taggart will forever be missed, you could always count on him to make you smile.  I am glad I got to see him not long before he left us, even though you knew he was sick, he still could make you smile.  Thanks for all the laughs over the years, I will miss your grin.

I remember Tag for a lot of things...his humor, his great belly laugh and larger than life presence... also his love of music, which he loved to share with others, but mostly I remember his kindness. I am so sorry to hear of Taggart's passing,  Condolences  to  the Families. I have known Taggart for many years and always shared jokes whenever we met. Sending sincere condolences to Tag's family. I have many, many memories of working and late night partying with Tag in the ten years we worked together. He certainly had his days that he frustrated us but it was always fun anyways! He will be missed by many and thinking of all his family at this time.

My condolences to Tag’s family and friends.  I have many fond memories of working at the restaurant and bar with Tag.  Always a smile and a laugh! RIP my friend.  

Awwww, we were very sad to hear of Taggart's passing.  Although, it has also been sad to see him struggle with his health battle the last several months.  We will always remember his smile, kind sense of humour and positivity all the years we knew him at our store.  We will miss you, Taggart, but we are glad your struggle is over.  Sending hugs and prayers to the family.  

I remember Gregs mischievous sense of humour fondly. He asked me to help him wrap Christmas presents, and then tricked me into wrapping my own present from him. We had a good laugh over that. He always seemed very happy with his place in the world. I will remember him with a big smile on his face and a cold beer in his hand. He is definitely smiling down on us all.

Wesley and I had a NS lobster feast in your honor!! They were especially fiesty lobsters. Maybe you were having another laugh with us 😉

My brother

A few favourite memories, Greg teaching me how to dance to Sweet Pea when I was 5.  He put me on a footstool and we danced the afternoon away!  West mount School had a pool many years ago and he would take me on hot summer days. Treats at what is now Westcliff on Oxford Street, a big one the day I thought I might run away cause I was mad at Mom 😉. And the day I answered the phone and told his girlfriend he was on a date…he was so upset he pulled the phone from the wall 🤣. I remember Mom helping him get his socks and jeans just right on date nights!  The last few years since we have both been sick we took care of each other, he came when I was diagnosed and had my mastectomy, he stayed with me when he became ill last year, we drove each other nuts on occasion, but always made up with a hug and a I love you.  Last week Greg, Chelsea and I had breakfast at the Ardmore Tea Room, he worked there when he was 16, we strolled the Halifax boardwalk and couldn’t find an ice cream shop open!  Cheers to my big brother, May he rest easy now and I promise to bring an ice cream when we spread your ashes ❤️❤️.
