Morrell, Dorothy “Dot” – Age 79, of Brighton, passed away August 31, 2013 in Tideview Terrace. Born in Weymouth, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Hazel (Gibson) Melanson. She worked for the Children’s Hospital in Digby and was involved with the ALS Society of NS. Dorothy loved music, her rocking chair and watching the birds, especially humming birds. Dorothy is survived by daughters, Shirley (Wayne) Milbury, Brighton; Wanda (Calvin) VanTassel, Guliver’s Cove; sons, David (Denise) Melanson, Oshawa, Ont; Bill (Terri) Morrell, Flin Flon, MB; Mike (Sharon) Morrell, Flin Flon, MB; Steve (Brenda) Morrell, Seabrook; Leroy (Crista) Morrell, Pierceland, Sask; Scott (Shawna) Morrell, Snow Lake, MB; sister, Kay Duran, Digby; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by husband, John Morrell; brothers, Bill, Joe; sisters, Eva, Ella, Maude and granddaughter, Sharon VanTassel. Visitation 7-9pm, Wednesday September 4th at Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street (245-2525). Funeral Mass will be at 11am, Thursday September 5th form St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Digby.
