Willis “Bill” Edward Tupper, 86, of Pinckney, MI and Naples, FL passed away peacefully at his home in Pinckney following a long illness on April 5, 2023. Bill was born on March 14, 1937, to Ward and Caroline Marie Tupper of Dexter, MI.
Bill spent his career as president and CEO of DAPCO Industries, a family-owned manufacturing company of valves and fittings in Dexter founded by his father in 1943. In his retirement, he continued his entrepreneurial spirit by founding Huron Lakes Weed Control, an aquatic weed harvesting company.
Bill was passionate about his many hobbies which, through the years, included: photography, videography, boating, scuba diving, and many sports. His interests and hobbies often grew into projects and programs benefiting the community around him. He was a talented musician and piano player. Bill was a proud member of many organizations including the Portage, Base & Whitewood Owners Association, the Dexter JC’s and is an inductee of the USA Softball of Michigan Hall of Fame. He was a dedicated supporter of University of Michigan and Pinckney High School athletic programs.
Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years Patrice Tupper, children Ronald (Andrea) Tupper of Pinckney, Michael (Lindsay) Tupper of Brighton, Anne-Marie (Troy) Harker of Brighton, grandchildren Michelle (Charles) Byrnes, Christine Tupper, Zachary Harker, Liliana Tupper, Mark Tupper, and Finn Harker, and dog Nik-Nak. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Beverly Pond, and son Dale Tupper. The family would also like to recognize his dear friend Mike Bauer.
A memorial visitation for Bill will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 3410 Broad St, Dexter, Michigan 48130.
