Heidi Lynn Konopka, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2024 at the age of 62. She was born on January 15, 1962, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Gerhard and Nancy (Case) Kremkus. Heidi spent her childhood in Dexter, Michigan, where she graduated from Dexter High School in 1980.
On September 3, 1988, she married the love of her life, Joseph "Josh" Gerard Konopka. Together, they created a warm and loving home for their two cherished children, Zachary Tyler Konopka and Heather Rose Konopka.
Heidi dedicated 35 years of her life to the University of Michigan, retiring in 2019.
Heidi is survived by her loving husband, Josh; her children, Zachary (Sabrina) and Heather; her brother, Roland (Laura) Kremkus and their three sons, Clint, Ethan, and Riley; her sister, Monica Kremkus; and her cousins Barb and Scott Huber, Patti and Ed Schenzie, Bob Bunner, Elaine and Steve Johnson, and Mark and Erin Kremkus.
Heidi was predeceased by her parents, Gerhard and Nancy Kremkus; her grandparents, Leslie and Virginia Case and Gertrud Kremkus; as well as her aunts and uncles, Carol and Jerry Bunner, Ellen and Manfred Kremkus, and her in-laws, Joseph and Lottie Konopka.
A visitation for Heidi will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 3410 Broad St, Dexter, Michigan 48130. Another visitation will occur on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at the same location.
