Chad Vincent Staples

Chad Vincent Staples, 52, of Gregory, passed away unexpectedly on October 27th, 2022. He was born on April 15, 1970, to Howard & Carol Staples of Dexter. He is survived by his father, Howard, his siblings, Dawn (Jeffrey) Schaerer, Carrie (Adam) Bodenmiller, Bonnie (Matthew) Vanderveen, Amanda Staples, several nieces and nephews, Courtney (Michael) Bappert, Melanie (Nick) Schaerer, Wes Bodenmiller, Eli Vanderveen, Ian Vanderveen, Gavin Staples, Aiden Bennett, and Jay Jay Clay, as well as great-nieces & nephews, Lydia, Leah, Nolan, & Maverick and his beloved cat, Wicket.

Chad enjoyed spending time with family, taking care of his home, meticulously caring for his yard, and providing a space for family and friends to enjoy annual picnics at his home on the 4th of July. He also enjoyed hosting game nights, time with friends and hunting for collectibles at garage sales, flea markets and antique shops.

As a collector of many things, he started with baseball cards and ultimately became an avid collector of all things Star Wars, having started with saving toys from his childhood.

He was a 1989 graduate of Dexter High School and remained in the area throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Staples and grandparents, Edwin & Lois Kolander and Virgil & Ruby Staples.

A Celebration of Life gathering will take place on Sunday, November 13th, 2022, from 3-6pm at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Dexter.
