Willow J. Eggleston wonderful mother of two, and devoted wife of 50 years passed away on Friday June 28th, 2024 after her long battle with Pulmonary Artery Hypertension. Born in Berlin, Germany in 1954, to parents, Toby and Eva (Ludke) Nix, and grew up surrounded by her two siblings, Michael and Gertrude (Debbie), Donald. Raised in a military family and graduated from Kaiserslautern American High School in Kaiserslautern, Germany where she continued to live and met her devoted husband, who was stationed with his unit in Kaiserslautern, Germany on a blind date. We can say it was not fairy tale love at first sight, but the two developed a beautiful friendship that blossomed into a loving and devoted relationship and marriage.
Becoming a mother to son and then 3 years later daughter, she was the mother who wanted her children to experience all they could and wanted them to know that no matter what she was always there to love and nurture them. Her children were her reason to get up and fight every day. Becoming the best grandmother possible to 6 beautiful grandchildren (Lillian, Evelyn, Chelsea, Kylee, Jacob, & Ethen), and through her son’s marriage she happily acquired 2 (Drake, Emery) more with open arms. Her grandchildren were the added light of her life, the very thing that made her such a compassionate and wonderful person. She will be missed tremendously by her loving husband, 2 children, and 8 grandchildren as there will never be anyone as wonderful as she was.
We know that you fought so hard and that you were so brave, and we know that you are now at peace and our guardian angel. Your light and infectious personality will be missed tremendously. We do not say goodbye, but rather rest now and know that your memory will live on forever, as we will be together again.
Willow is survived by her husband, Mark Sr.; 2 children and their spouses, Mark Jr (Jessica), Patricia (William), and 8 grandchildren Lillian, Evelyn, Chelsea, Kylee, Jacob, Drake, Emery, & Ethen.
A visitation will be held on July 3, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Gorsline Runciman DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington St. DeWitt, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Willow’s name may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
