Troy Lee Cooper, 53, of DeWitt, Michigan- our loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle passed away on July 1, 2018. He was born April 30, 1965 in Lansing, Michigan. Troy was preceded in death by his daughter, Renee Cooper; mother, Sue Carpenter; and brother, Jody Cooper.
Surviving are his loving wife of 24 years, Cyndi; daughters, Madeline and Grace; father, Alan Lee Cooper; step-mother, Sherri Cooper; brother, Todd (Ginger) Cooper; sisters, Traci (Skip) Harris , Jaime (Ken) Johnson, Amy Cooper; step-brother, John Manny; brother-in-law, Eric (Dana) Grill; sister-in-law, Sarah (Gregg) Boldman; and father/mother-in-law, Paul and Marsha Grill.
Troy served his country as a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon completion of his military service he worked in the Restaurant Management business where he met his wife Cyndi in 1989.
He began his career at AT&T in 1996 and completed 22 years of dedicated service to the company as a cable technician. Troy was liked by all he met through life. He took ill in May 2018 and was in and out or the hospital until his final days in hospice.
Troy was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer and a very special member of his family and will never be forgotten. He loved taking anyone who would go fishing with him, especially his daughters, nieces and nephews. Uncle Troy was the kid’s favorite at family functions in and out of the family. He loved the holidays where he had all the kids around together. He gave his daughters, nieces and nephews special memories of him and how he made them feel special as he was fun to be around.
Celebration of the Funeral Service will be Monday July 9, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St., DeWitt, Michigan with visitation 1 hour prior. The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday July 8, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt Chapel.
