Thomas Harry Henderson, age 60, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2013 after a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 23, 1952 to Harry Edward and Jennie Mae (Riggle) Henderson. Tom graduated from Eastern High School as Valedictorian and from Central Michigan University with honors. Shortly after college he joined the business world and immediately began climbing the corporate ladder. Tom worked and lived in Ft. Lauderdale, New York City, London and Boston. It was in these places where he made life-long friends. He enjoyed traveling, especially internationally, which led him to flying on the Concord and sailing on the Queen Elizabeth II. He loved business, but he lived for his family, taking them on adventures that only he could make possible. Tom always had words of encouragement for those he loved and through his kindness he helped to build the self-esteem of everyone he met. He was a true friend to many and a generous and compassionate man. Time will never take away our memories and words cannot express how much he will be missed. Tom was preceded in death just six short weeks ago by his loving mother, Jennie. He is survived by his father, Harry, and sister, Nancy (Greg) Klco, treasured nieces and nephew, Holly (Matt) Johnson, Kara Mae Freeman, Kristina and Jenny Klco. Tom is also survived by his aunt Arlene, many loving cousins, compassionate friends and dear friend, Connie Stafford. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, Michigan with Rev. Wesley B. Emerson officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, P.O. Box 30480, Lansing, MI 48909, in memory of Thomas Henderson. Memories may be shared with the family at www.grdewitt.com
