It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Robert (Bob) Smith, aged 83. He passed away at his home, with family by his side, on November 6, 2024 after a short battle with cancer. He was a loving father and husband and an adored grandfather.
Bob was born on June 18, 1941 to Dorothy and Ellsworth Smith in Logansport, Indiana.
He met and married Christiana in 1966 and in their 58 years of marriage, raised four children together: Steven, Thomas, Craig, and Julie. He cherished his 8 grandchildren: Eric, Stevie, Derek, Kelsey, Maine, Carly, Molly, and Paige along with 1 great-grandchild, Scarlett. Bob is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, older brother and younger sisters.
He will be remembered for his intelligence, wit, and gregarious sense of humor but will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
A private celebration of life will be held with family and close friends in the near future. Bob’s family is requesting a donation be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of him.
