Richard married Joyce Rehkopf, the love of his life, in 1969. He worked hard his whole life, retiring in 2001. Richard spent many summers fishing at Horsehead Lake and November hunting in the U. P. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus through the Catholic Community of St. Jude.
Richard joins his parents, Merle and Lena, and his brother Stan, as well as many beloved friends and relatives in heaven. Richard is survived by his wife, Joyce; his sister, Shirlee (Andy) Gambino; and his four children, Troy (Bonnie), Tamra, Richard (Kristin), Scott (Misty) along with their families which include ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Services for Richard will be held at 11:00 am on November 24, 2018 at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St., DeWitt, with a one hour visitation before the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, Memorial and Honor Program, PO Box 13067, Alexandria, VA 22312, and COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce de Leon Blvd, Miami, FL 33134.
