Lyle served in the United States Army from 1956-1958 as a Paratrooper before marrying the love of his life, JoAnn (Bredahl) at Okemos Community Church in 1959. From there Lyle and JoAnn built their life in Williamston where they had two daughters and Lyle worked as a supervisor at Oldsmobile for 33 years.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Lyle, you would know that he and his family were always traveling, whether it was camping throughout Michigan and in his later years traveling to places such as Europe, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. Lyle loved golfing, gardening, working on tractors, and LGB Trains, even building a track around the grainery for all to see. His greatest love of all though was his family, being with them, always being a hands on dad, laughing and joking with them, making memories, and loving on them.
Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, William and Nellie (Blood) Nichols; and many brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn Nichols; Daughters, Tamara Nichols, and Teri (Mark) Chadwell; Grandchildren, Jon Graham, Chris (Kaleigh) Chadwell, and Conor Chadwell; and great-granddaughter, Aubrey.
There will be no services at this time. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Capital Area Humane Society in Lyles memory https://www.cahs-lansing.org/support/donate/
