Larry Reid Durrance, 75, of St. Johns, MI passed away June 21, 2024 at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing. He was born on March 18, 1949 in Lansing, MI to the late Mary Rebecca Haines and Perry McSwain Durrance. He was also preceded in death by sister, Rosalyn Connors, brother, James Breedlove and cousin, Robert Breedlove, who was also like a brother to Larry.
Larry worked for General Motors for 39 ½ years in production and as a Millwright. He also served as Skilled Trades Committee Man and Skilled Trades Zone Committee Man for the UAW Local 602 which he was very proud of. During his time at General Motors, Larry also served in the U.S. Army for 2 years after being drafted in 1969 during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Ft. Campbell, KY and South Korea. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and spent time restoring his 1950 Chevy truck. He also enjoyed spending time at his place on Drummond Island.
He is survived by his children, Larry V. and Aniesia Durrance of Laingsburg, MI; Laura Albensi of Irwin, PA; and Justin and Stephanie Durrance of Okemos, MI. Also surviving are grandchildren Brielle Durrance, Gabriel Durrance, Deziray Kioski, Devin Albensi, Kieran Albensi, Adelyn Durrance, Ella Durrance and Kellan Durrance. In addition, nieces and nephews, Rhonda Waid, Robin Simek and Daniel Gibson; all of Ohio and cousins in MI and PA; and his great nieces and nephews. His companion, Robin Doyen of St. Johns, MI whom he enjoyed spending time with and was always there to support him.
