Kent Robert Murton, age 68, of Lansing, Michigan, passed from this life on December 21, 2021. Kent was born on May 27, 1953, in St. Johns, Michigan to Robert and Eleanor (Snyder) Murton. He graduated from St. Johns High School in 1971. After many years of working with his father on the family dairy farm in rural St. Johns, he chose a different occupation upon high school graduation. He began working full time for Donald Pung in his wall plastering business. Later, Kent worked for Dave Pung hanging drywall. Eventually, Kent started his own business named Complete Drywall Service.
Kent enjoyed participating in, and watching, sports of all kinds. He enjoyed reading and studying all types of history. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Kent is survived by two sons, Michael and Thomas (Ashlea) Murton of Kentucky. A sister, Karen (Ken) Andrews of DeWitt. Nephews and nieces; Eric (Amy) Andrews, Danae Andrews, Michelle Andrews, Nathan (Stephanie) Andrews, Lisa (Zachary) Paulus, Kirsten Andrews (fiancé Braden Sites), and Britta Andrews, as well as a great nephew and niece, Jordan & Emma Andrews, along with cousins in New York, Washington, Florida, and Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and a cousin.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 11a.m. at the Hurd Cemetery, DeWitt Road, north of Stoll Road, DeWitt Michigan.
