Karen Patricia Decatur, age 68, of DeWitt, MI, passed away on July 19, 2024. Born on April 14, 1956, in Lansing, Michigan, Karen was a lifelong resident of the area and a dedicated member of her community.
Karen graduated from DeWitt High School in 1974 and spent several years working at Sam's Kitchen in DeWitt, where she was beloved by her coworkers and customers alike for her dedication and loving nature. Known for her fun spirit, she brought joy and laughter to all who knew her.
Karen is survived by her son: Todd Joseph (Kaite) Decatur; sisters: Kathy (Tom) Harrington, Janine (Joe) Cavanaugh, Lisa (Brian) Seyfried and Wendy (Jim) Brown; brother: Bryan Decatur. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and her adorable kitty, Maddy. Karen was preceded in death by her parents: James and Emma Decatur; and her brother: James Decatur.
In honor of Karen's life, her family extends their gratitude to the staff at Hospice House of Mid Michigan for their compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming weeks.
