ELIZABETH ANNE MILLER (CROWL), East Lansing, MI, Age 58, passed away on March 13, 2018. Betsy, as she was called by those who knew her, was born in Lansing, MI on March 28th, 1959 to Mary Lou (Fisher) and Neil E. Crowl. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. Betsy graduated from J.W. Sexton High School in 1977 and began working as an operator for Telephone Communications in Lansing, where she would later meet her husband, Tom, an EMT that used the phone service for emergency calls. After two years of dating, Betsy and Tom married on March 3rd, 1979; they had just recently celebrated 39 years of marriage. Over the course of those 39 years, Betsy gave birth to six children that she loved dearly. Those children provided her with nine grandchildren, one of her greatest joys during her life. Betsy was completely devoted to her family and loved them unconditionally. Tom was not only her husband and sole confidant, he was also her best friend. If Betsy was there, you could bet that Tom was close by, tied together by not only their marital vows, but by their unconditional love for one another. That love was also shed upon those who knew her through the cards she would create, the jewelry she would make, and the care she would demonstrate through her volunteer work. Betsy was very active in the community through various veteran’s awareness organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Joshua T. Miller, and her brother-in-law Richard L. Betts. Surviving are her husband of 39 years Thomas R. Miller of East Lansing, MI, her children Jenny Miller of Richmond, VA, Sarah (Tommy DeShais) Roush of Eaton Rapids, Amanda (Brent) Hissong of Haslett, Steven (Megan) Miller of Haslett, and Michael Miller of Houston, TX, as well as her siblings Eric Crowl of Lansing, MI, Mary (Thomas Zeigler) Ziegler-Crowl of Leslie, MI, Stephanie Crowl of Lansing, MI, Christine (Richard) Betts of Charlotte, MI, and John Crowl of San Francisco, CA. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 22 nieces and nephews, cousins, special friends and neighbors. She will be missed greatly by all of those that knew her. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 23rd at 12 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Dewitt with Pastor Beth Grimshaw of Leslie Congregational United Church of Christ. Visitation is on Thursday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
