Craig Allen Bradley

Craig Allen Bradley, also known as Mr. NAPA, passed away on September 10, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him. Born in Grand Rapids, MI on October 2, 1950, Craig's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family and his relentless work ethic. In 1975, Craig met the love of his life, Karen. They were married in 1976 and spent an incredible 48 years together. They raised two children - Sean and Joel. Craig extended that love and became a father figure to Samantha - instilling in them the values of hard work and compassion that defined Craig's own character. Craig was also a grandfather to five grandchildren. As a father and grandfather, Craig was a pillar of strength for his family.

Throughout his life journey, Craig remained committed to personal growth-always eager to learn new things-and became an invaluable mentor for many individuals along the way. His impact extended far beyond what can be measured. Craig retired from NAPA where he built a career of over 46 years of service. In that time, he was awarded Counterman's 2008 Counter Professional of The Year, NAPA ASE Parts Specialist of the Year 2002, Runner-up for Counter Professional of the Year 1998, and was ASE-certified in 24 areas with three Master certifications. He wrote ASE P2 test questions and was chairman for the advisory board of Kent Career Technical Center parts professional program, as well as being a member of the advisory board for the Lansing Community College Automotive Program.

Outside of Craig’s extensive automotive career, he also committed a significant amount of time to the world of R/C Helicopters. With over 30+ years involved with the R/C helicopter community; Craig first served as a FAI/FC judge, then moved to being a Contest Director, and eventually became an Event Director for the AMA National R/C Helicopter Championships. Craig also played significant roles in organizing the FAI FC World Championships as the contest director. His involvement in organizing these events for the model helicopter community is well known, going above and beyond to make sure these events ran smoothly.

In addition, Craig had numerous hobbies including restoring his 1972 Camaro; flying RC helicopters and drones; and learning to play, fix, and build guitars. Craig’s interests extended to birdwatching and star gazing with his telescope.

Craig dedicated himself wholeheartedly to every task he undertook at work or home without seeking recognition or praise in return; it was simply part of who he was—a man whose actions spoke louder than words ever could. "Support others. You have to listen more than you talk, most of the time."

The loss of such an extraordinary individual has left a void within our hearts—one that cannot easily be filled. Yet we take comfort knowing that Craig's spirit will live on through all those whose lives he touched so profoundly.

Craig is survived by his wife Karen, his two children: Sean (Bernice) Bradley and Joel (Nina) Bradley as well as his grandchildren Ethyn, Jaxon, Grayson, Damien and Destini, his sisters Margaret Meyer and Christine Foley, and one sister-in-law Maureen Maher, aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
