Carol attended Holy Cross College of Nursing. She enjoyed a career as a registered nurse for over 40 years and retired from Ingham Medical Hospital in Lansing.
Carol married the love of her life, Robert Allen Cleaver, on November 3, 1972 at Sacred Heart Church in Muskegon Heights.
Carol was an avid college football fan and loved watching and cheering for both the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and Michigan State University (Go Green!). Carol enjoyed her book and card clubs and loved spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, going to the casino, a good Bloody Mary, tailgating, and getting her hair done.
She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She also enjoyed going to Guardian Angels Catholic Church when staying with her family in Troy.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Cleaver (May 16, 2011); father, Joseph Vukits (October 6, 2000); and mother, LaNore Vukits (February 3, 2001).
Surviving are her daughters, Kimberly Ann Kardasz (Michael) of Troy, MI, and Rebecca Anne Cleaver of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Alexander Kardasz, James Kardasz, and Emma Kardasz; sister, Beverly Groneck (Michael) of Hertford, North Carolina; brothers-in-law, Larry Cleaver of Midland, MI, Donald Cleaver of Caseville, MI, William Cleaver of Grand Rapids, MI, and John Zigray of Perrinton, MI; aunt, Anna Vukits of Norton Shores, MI; and grand-dogs, Scout Kardasz and Bella Cleaver. Carol is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, and her best friend of 50+ years, Mary Jakubiak.

The family will receive friends at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home (DeWitt Chapel), 205 E. Washington St., Friday from 5-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Visitation at Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St., DeWitt, Saturday from 10 a.m. until Mass at 11 a.m.
