Thomas A Kapolnek

Thomas A. Kapolnek, age 70, was born on November 22, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to George and Hattie (nee Schroeder). He died December 11, 2022 at home. Loving husband of Diane (nee Halvorsen) for 45 years; beloved father of Heather (Jose Raul) and Mark (Kelsey); cherished grandpa of Grant Thomas and Lyla Jane; and beloved brother of the late George (late Mary), late Jim (Honey), Mary Ann (late Jack) Cerny, late Richard (late Barbara), Robert (late Jacqueline), late Susan (late Walter) Bronson, late Raymond (Stephanie), Karen (Don) Neustadt, Joyce (John) Furtkamp, Joan (Howard) Henneman, David (Gretchen), and Don (Bonnie). Cherished brother-in-law to Gary and Judy, Ken and Linda, Ron, Gail and Larry Bergfalk, Deb and Kevin Ward, the late Jeff, and late Susan. Fond uncle and great-uncle to many.

Tom was a proud alumnus of St. Patrick High School (‘70). He had a lifelong career as a real estate appraiser. He began his career at North West Federal Savings and went on to found his own company in 1985, Kapolnek & Associates. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, cheering for the Bears and Cubbies, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and his dogs. Whether organizing family Christmas parties and decorating contests, hosting the Big G Garden Club, or planning celebrations with his large and loving family, Tom loved to bring people together.

Celebration of Life services will take place Saturday January 7, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home 2099 Miner St. Des Plaines,IL. 60016.
